Central Heating — Built on Experience, Precision & Doing the Job Right

From One Truck and a $5,000 Loan to Serving Barrie & Simcoe County

Central Heating didn't start with a fleet of trucks, a large shop or a big advertising budget.

It started in 2007 with one truck and a $5,000 loan from my dad.

And before I even made it home with that truck, the transmission blew.

Not exactly the start I had planned.

But like most things in the trades, when something breaks, you figure out how to fix it and keep moving forward.

That's how Central Heating got started.

My name is Kevin McGowan, and I've spent my life working in the trades. I'm a licensed Tool and Die Maker, hold a Residential Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic licence, and have my G2 Gas Technician certification.

My background in tool and die taught me something early in my career: precision matters. You measure twice, do the job properly, and don't take shortcuts.

That approach has stayed with me throughout my career and has become part of how we operate at Central Heating.

It's also where our customers will recognize the philosophy behind our radio tagline:

Call Measure Twice Kev!

Built on Hard Work, Not Guesswork

Since that first truck, Central Heating has grown into a team of heating and cooling professionals serving homeowners and businesses throughout Barrie and Simcoe County.

But some things haven't changed.

We're still an owner-operated company, and I still believe customers deserve straightforward answers, quality workmanship and fair treatment.

When a furnace breaks down, we believe in finding out why before recommending expensive repairs.

When a customer needs a new heating or cooling system, we don't just install the same size equipment that was there before.

We perform heating and cooling load calculations on every installation.

We also look at ductwork, airflow and the other factors that affect how comfortable a home actually feels.

Sometimes a customer needs a new furnace. Sometimes they need a repair. And sometimes their heating and cooling equipment is fine, but the ductwork isn't delivering the air where it needs to go.

Our job is to figure out the difference.

Experience You Can Count On

I've always believed that being a good tradesperson means continuing to learn.

Heating and cooling equipment has changed significantly since we started in 2007. Today's systems are more sophisticated, with advanced controls, high-efficiency equipment and new refrigerant technologies.

We've been installing and servicing heat pumps since the beginning, and our technicians are trained to work on these systems through both Ontario's hot summers and cold winters.

As the technology changes, our commitment to understanding it and doing the work properly stays the same.

We've grown from that first truck, but the values Central Heating was built on haven't changed.

Do the work properly. Treat people fairly. Stand behind what you do.

That's what I want Central Heating to represent.

And if you need help with your home's heating or cooling, you know who to call.

Here is a shot of Central Heating's first truck after we sold it. I am not sure who is happier the buyer on the far left or me!
