When your heating system stops working in the middle of an Ontario winter, you need someone who knows what they're doing.
Central Heating has been providing heating repairs, installations and maintenance in Barrie and surrounding Simcoe County communities since 2007.
We're an owner-operated company built by lifelong tradesman Kevin McGowan. With over 70 years of combined team experience, we focus on finding the actual problem, explaining your options and doing the job right.
We believe in repairing equipment when it makes sense and recommending replacement when it's the better long-term investment.

We service and replace residential hot-water boilers, radiators and radiant in-floor heating systems.
From leaking boilers and failed circulators to complete mechanical-room replacements, we evaluate the entire hydronic system.
Our installations include heat-loss calculations, radiator assessments, piping improvements and water-quality testing.
Even a small boiler leak can lead to expensive damage, which is why we strongly recommend annual professional maintenance.

Heat Pump Installation & Service
Heat pumps aren't new to Central Heating. We've been installing and servicing them since we opened in 2007.
Our technicians are trained to work with cold-climate heat pumps and dual-fuel systems designed for Ontario winters.
We particularly recommend evaluating heat pumps for homes currently heated with oil, propane or electric resistance heating, where potential operating savings can be significant.

We Don't Guess. We Calculate.
One of the biggest differences at Central Heating is how we approach equipment replacement.
We perform heating and cooling load calculations on every installation.
We don't automatically install the same size furnace or boiler that was there before.
We calculate the home's heating requirements and evaluate the existing distribution system, including ductwork, radiators and airflow where applicable.
An oversized heating system can short cycle, while an undersized system may struggle to keep your home comfortable.
We believe proper sizing, quality equipment and careful installation provide better value over the long run.
Heating Maintenance & Emergency Service
Regular maintenance helps identify problems before they become expensive breakdowns.
We offer preventative heating maintenance and membership options to help customers keep their equipment in good working condition.
When unexpected breakdowns happen, we also offer emergency heating repairs, including after-hours appointments based on technician availability.
We'll always be straightforward about your options and when we can arrange service.
Why Choose Central Heating?
Central Heating started in 2007 with one truck and a $5,000 loan from Kevin's father. The transmission blew on the way home, but the business kept moving forward.
Kevin's background in tool and die, air conditioning and gas fitting helped shape how we approach our work today.
Measure properly. Diagnose the problem. Do the job right.
That philosophy still drives Central Heating.
We focus on experienced tradespeople, straightforward pricing, quality workmanship and long-term value.
Proudly Serving Barrie & Simcoe County
Central Heating provides heating repairs, installations and maintenance throughout Barrie and nearby communities, including Innisfil, Orillia, Oro-Medonte, Springwater, Essa and surrounding Simcoe County areas.
Whether you need a furnace repaired, a boiler replaced or advice on upgrading to a heat pump, we're here to help.
